How much do delivery apps charge restaurants?
Delivery apps bring new guests, and many restaurants keep them for that. It helps to know exactly what each order costs, so you can choose where to send your regulars.

Step by step
- Know your plan. DoorDash publishes Basic, Plus and Premier plans, listed at 15%, 25% and 30% of the order subtotal. Uber Eats moved its Lite plan to 20% in March 2026, with Plus at 25% and Premium at 30%.
- Check pickup fees. Pickup orders on apps usually have a lower fee than delivery; Uber Eats set it at 7% in March 2026. Check your own contract.
- Add card and other fees. Look at your monthly statement for processing, marketing and promotion costs.
- Do the math for a month. Multiply your app sales by your rate. The chart shows 300 orders at $30 with a 20% fee: $1,800 a month.
- Decide where each guest should order. Many restaurants use apps for new guests and delivery, and move pickup and regular guests to their own page.

Questions owners ask
Why do delivery apps charge so much?
The fee pays for drivers, the app, marketing and placement in front of new guests. Whether it is worth it depends on the order.
Should I leave delivery apps?
Not necessarily. Many restaurants keep them for reach and delivery, and use their own page for pickup and regulars.
