How to build your own customer list

Guests who order through a delivery app belong to the app’s list, not yours. Your own list is what lets you invite people back without paying again to reach them.

Step by step

  1. Take orders on your own page. Every online order on your page saves the guest’s name and number for you.
  2. Ask at the counter. A small sign with a QR code: “Get a birthday gift. Join our list.”
  3. Ask for permission clearly. A checkbox for texts and one for emails, with a line about what they will get and how often.
  4. Give a reason to join. A birthday gift, points, or first news about new dishes.
  5. Keep it clean. Remove guests who opt out right away, and do not add numbers from anywhere else.

What to save for each guest

Name, phone or email, what they usually order, how often they come, when they last ordered, their birthday if they share it, and what they agreed to receive.

EatFuti is in Des Moines, Iowa, and works with independent restaurants across the United States, most of all in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas and Texas.

How it works with EatFuti

  1. Run the free check. Three minutes, no sign-up. See your Google page, where your Order button goes and how your site does on a phone.
  2. Say yes. Send your photos and menu, or we take the menu from your POS or online. Online ordering is live 48 to 72 hours after signup.
  3. Your website goes up. Built for you from your photos, menu and reviews, right after ordering is live. You approve it before it goes up.

Questions owners ask

Can I get customer contacts from delivery apps?

Usually not for marketing. That is why moving pickup guests to your own page matters.

How big does my list need to be?

A few hundred real guests who like your food is already valuable.
