# Restaurant not showing on Google? 7 things to check

If guests cannot find you on Google, one of a few common problems is usually the cause. Check them in this order.

## Step by step

1. **Is your profile verified?.** Unverified profiles may not show, and your edits may not appear.
2. **Is there a duplicate?.** Two listings for one restaurant split your reviews and confuse Google. Ask Google to merge or remove the extra.
3. **Is the category right?.** “Vietnamese restaurant” matches “pho near me” better than “Restaurant” or “Food”.
4. **Are hours and address complete?.** Missing or wrong hours can keep you out of “open now” searches.
5. **Does your website say the same thing?.** The same name, address and phone on your website and listing help Google trust both.
6. **Do you have recent reviews?.** A listing with no reviews in a year looks inactive next to one with new reviews every week.
7. **Was the profile suspended?.** If Google suspended it, the Business Profile shows a notice and how to appeal.
